He began attending swimming camps while enrolled in army school, although his focus was in cricket rather than swimming. Dhruv used to play cricket when swimming classes were held at school. The team won the Under-19 Asia Cup Dhruv represented Uttar Pradesh in cricket’s Under-14 and Under-16 age groups. He was then selected for the Indian Under-19 team for the 2020 World Cup. Dhruv never looked back from here. He was also selected as the vice-captain of the country’s under-19 team in 2020.Under his captaincy, Dhruv’s squad won the Under-19 Asia Cup, but they lost to Bangladesh in the Under-19 World Cup final.Early in his career, Dhruv used to bowl off-spin, but his bowling was nothing special. Dhruv made his Ranji Trophy debut for Uttar Pradesh against Vidarbha in 2022 and so far he has played 15 first-class matches, scoring 790 runs including a century and five fifties. His best score was 249 runs Dhruv participated in 23 T20 matches and 10 List-A games.
However, he got his first chance in IPL 2023. Dhruv made his IPL debut on 5 April 2023 against Punjab Kings in Guwahati. In his very first match he played the fastest innings with 32 runs off 15 balls. Since then he came into limelight.
